Here’s A Little Bit

Hi, we’re Christo and Monya and we are two of the owners of Brookby Barn. We moved our family to Brookby for the lifestyle it brought, and wanted to share our property with the local community.

We started with The Brookby Christmas Market in our barn in 2020. We found that many people would come back each week because they just loved connecting with others who they met at the market, or they didn’t have anyone that they connected with regularly.

This sparked the idea that we could create a space where people can come to connect, and open a inclusive place that encourages family time.

We have a heart for community and want this to be the heart of the community and a place for people to connect.

Not only are we passionate about the people in our community, but also the incredible business owners. This is why we also incorporated a gift store where local makers and small businesses could promote their own brands and we can all support and love local.

The animal farm was inspired to encourage and allow people whose ordinary lives are in the city to touch and experience farm animals. There’s something truly special about animal experiences and we encourage everyone to get involved.

There’s indoor and outdoor play areas, so families can come and enjoy a nice hot meal and coffee while knowing their children have a safe and fun environment to be in.

We know how important quality family time is, and Brookby Barn is a place centred around family.

We’d love you to pop in for a coffee, see the animals, support some local businesses and share this beautiful, tranquil space. We love bringing people together, so if you’d like to hire the barn for your next gathering, we’d love you to.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Claudine is a beautiful mum of 2, Micha and Max, and wife to Jeremy. She is a teacher by trade and has decided to join our team to serve our amazing community. With her bubbly and positive attitude, you will always feel welcome when you walk through our doors.

Maddie is a first year uni student at AUT studying Health Management. She’s really passionate about New Zealand youth wellbeing. She loves sport and has rowed for three seasons in high school and is now a rowing coach over the summer at Saint Kentigern college. In her spare time, she can be found hanging out with friends and working around the house. You will see Maddie at Brookby Barn on the weekends.

Zeandri is a Psychology & Physiology student who loves food almost as much as she loves people. With two little sisters and a tight knit family, she’s been surrounded by love, laughter and community all her life. Challenges do not scare her, in fact she welcomes them because they are part of life. If she’s not studying, making coffees or serving food, she’s probably curled up somewhere with a book or writing the ones she hopes to one day publish. She loves helping in any way that she can and loves doing it with a smile.
